Photos taken in the Gorge de Colombières. This spectacular and very wild gorge is less famous (and less visited) than the Gorges d'Héric. It is just 5 miles from our home.

On a sunny and warm afternoon on 2nd February 2004 I went for a walk with the dog to the summit of La Caissenole. This minor peak is on the edge of the Fôret des Ecrivains-Combattants, near Lamalou-les-Bains in the Haut Languedoc Natural Park. Despite the clear blue skies over us, a low bank of cloud covered the coastal plain on the other side of the Orb valley.
