Dragonflies and Damselflies

Anax imperator - Emperor Dragonfly - L'Anax empereur

Description

A striking and beautiful large, bright blue dragonfly with a green thorax, the Emperor is a familiar sight over ponds and lakes. It seems to patrol endlessly, very rarely resting on plants at the water's edge. The female is green and can be observed ovipositing on floating vegetation.
