Description
A large, olive green coloured dragonfly with inticate brown markings. This species gets its common name from its flight habit of quietly patrolling the river surface along tree-lined Rivers.
Male Peaceful Hawker resting on an ivy covered tree near to the River Orb at Cessenon (34). Sorry that the photo is not quite in focus.
Observations
23.06.2006 Male, near to the River Orb at Cessenon (34). The first time I've seen this species.
15.07.2006 Solitary individual near the Chapelle St Raphael, Hérépian, (34)
15.07.2006 Solitary male near our house in Lamalou-les-Bains (34).
