Erythromma viridulum - Small Red-eyed Damselfly - Naiade au corps vert

Description

This insect can be identified by its striking, blood-red eyes. It is found by ponds and lakes and has recently (1999) colonised Southern Britain. Its range is expanding year on year.

08/07/2004   Several males by Lac du Salagou, Hérault (34).
